Christoph Götzen (DK) is a guitarist, improvisor, and composer whose solo work explores the electric guitar as a largely acoustic and physical instrument. Using preparations, extended techniques, and unconventional approaches, he creates layered and evolving sonic textures. His performances move between intimacy and intensity, precision and unpredictability, continuously blurring the boundaries between composition and improvisation. As the founder of the European Music Collective, he is constantly seeking to expand his artistic language within transcultural environments, develop new forms of collective musical organisation, and encourage the exploration and convergence of diverse musical perspectives within contemporary improvised music.
