Bernard Parmegiani (1927 – 2013) is a pioneer and leading light of electroacoustic music. He leaves behind him a vast and fascinating œuvre, a priceless heritage for today’s generation.

His life was structured around a few mainstays: working in a studio filled with machines, lighting a pipe filled with Amsterdamer, in the company of his wife (his “first ear”), and not least, a few affectionate cats.

This is a special concert of the 20th anniversary celebration of Skaņu Mežs festival: Parmegiani was a guest at the very first edition of the festival in 2003.

François J. Bonnet will play the following works of Parmegiani:

Capture éphémère 11’53 (1967), L’Instant mobile 10’41 (1971), Immer/Sounds 11’24 (1999)

Afterwards, Bonnet will play two pieces he has previously published under his Kassel Jaeger moniker:

Algae (15’), Erosions (20’)
